1. Beetroot Carrot Smoothie

Beetroot and carrot are rich source of vitamin A and antioxidants that helps in  blood purification.

Ingredients:

1 Beetroot
1 Carrot
2 ice cubes

Preparation:

Refreshing mint and lime together rejevunates our mornings.Drink 1 glass of detox water early morning

5 mint leaves

4.Vegan Celery mint smoothie:

1 stalk of celery
1/2 bunch of coriander leaves

2 t spoon of honey
 1 t spoon of lemon juice

1.Standing Forward BEND- Padahasthasana:

Stand straight with a feet distance apart.Raise your hands straight above your ear and slightly bend  back inhaling .Now exhale slowly and bend forward your hands touching your feet.Stay in this position then again inhale and raise back to standing position.Repeat this exercise for 2 to 3 repetition.

2.Boat Pose-Naukasana:

Lie on the ground (in savasana position)  flatly  stretching your legs out and palms resting on either side.Inhale deeply and while exhaling  lift your chest ,head and legs from the ground.Stretch your hands out such that they are parallel to your legs.Try to get 45 degree angle in between .
Hold the position and breathe normaly for 30 seconds.Now inhale deeply and come back to normal sleeping position.

Lie on the ground in shavasana pose and bring your hands to the sides perpendicular to your body.Then fold your leg such that knees are pointing the ceiling .Twist your body such that your  left knees touches the ground and turn your head to the right .Repeat the other side.

  • Twisting will relax your upper body and beneficial for spine and neck

4.Bow Pose-Dhanurasana

Lie on the ground with stomach facing downwards.Turn your head such that chin faces down.Bend your legs behind and hold such that your left hand is holding left leg and vice versa.Inhale slowly and raise your head,chest and leg such that your whole weight is on the abdomen.Hold the position and Exhaling come back to the ground stretch your leg and relax.Repeat 2 to 3 times.

My personal recommendation:Mixed Reaction .I would recommend this to be used  along with other biotique sunscreen(its how i use it),because when i used only this as sunscreen my skin tanned badly (Sensitive Skin Type) .So if you want a product only as sunscreen i would say go for those from List 1 to 4.

But if you are staying in polluted metropolitan cities than its a Yes to use this as anti pollutant cream.Since I moved to Bangalore ,I got small marks on my face due to pollution from the time i used this it has lightened the marks and i dont see new ones too.

Homemade Facial Using Milk By Beautify And Healthify


Facial is very important for our skin to be fresh ,rejuvenated,beautiful. At least once in a month facial needs to be done ,But some find it difficult to go to Salon,or for some its quite expensive .So here is the simple way to do facial using items found in your kitchen  i.e. ,Milk








This facial is divided in to 5  different steps:Cleanisng,Scrubbing,Steaming,Massage and Face pack

1.Cleansing:

Ingredients:
Raw Milk(For all skin type except oily skin)
use low fat milk if oily skin
Cotton pad

Procedure :

Take a cotton pad dip it in the bowl of milk and clean your face and neck  .Milk will remove the dirt  from our face.

2.Scrubbing

Ingredients:

Raw Milk(For all skin type except oily skin)
1 teaspoon of grounded oats powder

Procedure :

Mix all these ingredients with milk and damp your face and apply it and massage your face leave it for 15 minutes once its dry wet fingers with water and scrub off gently.

This will remove the dirt and dead cells and will give you glowing bright complexion.

3.Steaming

Face Steamer

I would recommend to use a face steamer,if you donot have then take a clean face towel dip the towel in warm water and gently pat your skin with the towel.

With Face Steamer:

Put 2 to 3 drops of lavender essential oil for soothing effect and Expose your face to the steam for 5 to 10 min .

Mix all the ingredients well and  apply by massaging in anti clock wise  direction at least for 5 to 10 minutes.This will help in blood circulation and give a glow to your face.

5.Face Pack

Ingredients:

1 teaspoon of Rice Flour
1 teaspoon red lentils Flour
1/2 teaspoon sandalwood powder
1 teaspoon honey
2 teaspoon Yogurt

Procedure:

Mix all the ingredients add rose water if the paste is thick, add glycerin if dry skin.Apply the pack on your face and neck using Facepack Brush.Let it dry and then wash it with luke warm water.


Once the facial is completed you can moisturize your skin with your favorite moisturizer.

  • I have oily scalp and dry hair.so its really good for oily scalp and little amount of shampoo is sufficient and lathers well.But its makes my hair more dry .So its a must to use a conditioner after shampoo.
  • It has strong ayurvedic smell too.

  • Buy this product if you have oily/frizzy scalp,I do not recommend for dry scalp.

How To Do Yoga/Exercises For Back And Tail Bone Pain At Home


Hello Everyone,

Today is our post regarding exercises to keep us active and help us in getting rid of back pain.I had tail bone pain so these are some of the exercises and yoga postures recommended by my Physiotherapist.Not just for the pain but for well being of overall body.We sit long hours in front of laptop/computers  or  TV,but in unsteady postures which will affect or spine and back in the long run.So its must to have good balanced diet and exercises to keep us healthy and fit.


1.Walking/Running


Walking is the best form of exercise.Daily  brisk walk for at least half an hour ,if you have good walking track or park nearby  else in Treadmill .But  before   walking /Running in tread mill ,its a must to warm up.

Note :Be careful while using Treadmills Read safety instructions,

  • Use good running shoes and Good Treadmill ,Power of motor should be min 2 HP.
  • People who have knee Injury or Bone injury and People aged more than 45 be cautious while using ,if you have breathlessness or you have not exercised in months /Years or if you don't have the fitness .Please consult a doctor .Do not buy treadmill @ home and cause any injuries
  • Pregnant women should avoid walking/Running on treadmills



Basic warm up exercise like Stretching ,Jumping jacks ,twisting torso etc.After warm ups start by walking slowly for a minute and then increase the pace and walk with good speed then increase more pace and then run  and then repeat the process by decreasing the speed.


2.Bridges.

Below are some of the yoga postures/exercises one should do everyday.
  • Lie on your back,bend knees such that your knees point to ceiling and feet flat on the ground.
  • Inhale and raise your hip and chest up hold the position and Breathe normally for 2 to 3 breaths .
  • Then slowly exhale and come back to the position and then relax.

Bridge Pose or Setu bandhasana



Highly beneficial for  stretching  and strengthening back , hamstring,abdominal muscles and legs .It also stretches Chest and Lungs.Improves digestion also.


3.Uni lateral bridges

This is same as bridges but an advanced step with one leg raised.

  • Lie on your back,bend knees such that your knees point to ceiling and feet flat on the ground.
  • Inhale slowly raise your 1 leg ,hip chest up hold the position and Breathe normally for 2 to 3 breaths 
  • Then slowly exhale and come back to the position and then relax.Repeat the same procedure for alternate leg.
  • 4. Thunderbolt pose  (Vajrasana)

    This is a easy asana which is a base position for most of sitting asanas.



    • Sit back on your heels and place your knees ,heels together
    • Place your palms on knees and keep back straight
    • This is good meditation posture helps in aiding digestion. Relieving from acidity and  digestive disorders.

    5. Cat -Camel pose (Marjari Asana )

    This is 2 poses 1 flowing into other .

    Note :Do not do this if you have knee pain/Injury Consult Doctor before doing


    • Begin on your hands and knees keep your hands near your shoulders  that is standing on all fours.
    • Inhale and tilt tail bone and pelvis Up let spine curve be downwards and head pointing up.(Cat pose)
    • then slowly exhale and reverse the spinal bend pull stomach in and pelvis and tail bone down  Similar to camel(Camel Pose).
    Repeat this transitions several times.This is beneficial for your spine and tail bone.

    6.Tiger Pose (vyagrasana)

    This is similar to cat pose.

    Note :Do not do this if you have knee pain/Injury  like slip disc Consult Doctor before doing



    • Begin on kneeling down and by  putting  your hand in front of your shoulder.
    • Inhale and lift one leg  such they are parallel to ground and then bend  your leg backwards And raise your neck backwards  then slowly come back to normal position
    • Repeat with another leg
    • Very beneficial for burning the abdominal fat,Loosens hips joints and tail bone.
    • Relaxes sciatic nerves

    Eating Foods Away From Home

    Restaurants, convenience and grocery stores, or fast-food places offer a variety of options when eating out. But larger portions and too many extras can make it difficult to stay within your calorie needs. Think about ways to make healthier choices when eating food away from home.
     
    1. Consider your drink
      Choose water, fat-free or low-fat milk, unsweetened tea, and other drinks without added sugars to complement your meal.
       
    2. Savor a salad
      Start your meal with a salad packed with vegetables to help you feel satisfied sooner. Ask for dressing on the side and use a small amount of it.
       
    3. Share a main dish
      Divide a main entree between family and friends. Ask for small plates for everyone at the table.
       
    4. Select from the sides
      Order a side dish or an appetizer-sized portion instead of a regular entree. They’re usually served on smaller plates and in smaller amounts.

       
    5. Pack your snack
      Pack fruit, sliced vegetables, low-fat string cheese, or unsalted nuts to eat during road trips or long commutes. No need to stop for other food when these snacks are ready-to-eat.
       
    6. Fill your plate with vegetables and fruit 
      Stir-fries, kabobs, or vegetarian options are usually filled with vegetables. Order options without creamy sauces or heavy gravies. Select fruits for dessert.
       
    7. Compare the calories, fat, and sodium
      Many menus now include nutrition information. Look for items that are lower in calories, saturated fat, and sodium. Check with your server if you don’t see them on the menu. For more information, check the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) website.
       
    8. Pass on the buffet
      Have an item from the sajian and avoid the “all-you-can-eat” buffet. Steamed, grilled, or broiled dishes have fewer calories than foods that are fried in oil or cooked in butter.
       
    9. Get your whole grains
      Request 100% whole-wheat breads, rolls, and pasta when choosing sandwiches, burgers, or main dishes.

       
    10. Quit the "clean your plate" club
      When you’ve eaten enough food, leave the rest. Take leftovers home in a container and chill in the refrigerator right away.

    Fruit Crumble Recipe



    Use whatever fresh or frozen fruit you have on hand to make this old-fashioned crumble. Typical crumble topping has as much as a half cup of butter—ours has just a bit of canola oil and, for richness, chopped almonds, which are full of healthy monounsaturated fats.

    Ingredients

    ·         2 1/2 cups fresh or frozen fruit, such as blueberries, peaches, plums

    ·         1 tablespoon granulated sugar

    ·         3 tablespoons whole-wheat or all-purpose flour, divided

    ·         1 tablespoon orange juice

    ·         1/2 cup rolled oats

    ·         1/4 cup chopped almonds, or pecans                   

    ·         3 tablespoons brown sugar

    ·         1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    ·         2 tablespoons canola oil

    Preparation        

    1.    Preheat panggangan to 400°F.

    2.    Combine fruit with granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon flour and orange juice. Divide among four 6-ounce ovenproof ramekins. Combine oats, nuts, brown sugar, the remaining 2 tablespoons flour and cinnamon. Drizzle with oil and stir to combine. Sprinkle over the fruit mixture. Place the ramekins on a baking sheet.

    3.    Bake until the fruit is bubbling and the topping is golden, 20 to 25 minutes. Let stand for at least 10 minutes before serving.
